The North American P-51D Mustang may be one of the most recognized and successful Fighter aircraft of all time of all time.
Serving throught WW2 in the European and Pacific theaters, it is still flown today in various evolved configurations.
Powered by an American Packard-built Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, the P-51 proved to be outstandingly fast and maneuverable,
with long range extended by the use of drop tanks. The aircraft also excelled as a fighter-bomber, escorting B-17s and B-24s on raids deep into enemy territory.

This kit builds "Happy Jack's Go Buggy" P-51D 44-74452.
HJGB was restored from a 1944 airframe that was sold to the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1950.
It went into private hands in 1958, and eventually to the Guatamalen Air Force (as FAG366) in 1962.
