1/33 Scale A6M Mitsubishi ZERO North American AT-6 Texan (Movie Aircraft)
Empire of the Sun (1987 Warner Bros. Steven Spielberg)

For the 1987 feature film "Empire of the Sun" various WW2 Japanese Zero fighters were simulated using radio controlled models and four actual aircraft...two AT6, one SNJ and one Harvard.
Although not perfect recreations, at least an effort was made to recreate the correct types of aircraft, rather than use "whatever was available", as is the case in many motion pictures.

Mitubishi A6M Zero: Japans long range Fighter produced in large volume from 1940 to 1945.
At one point considered the "most capable carrier-based aircraft in the world" because of its excellent maneuverability, extreme long range and impressive aerial combat performance.

AT6 Texan: A single-engine advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces and Navy.
It was also used by the Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II.
Texans (Harvards) have been flown by as many as 70 different countries and many are still flying today as Exhibition aircraft.
