1/50 Cessna L-19 Bird Dog (Chile) Paper Model
Following World War II, Cessna proposed a liaison and observation aircraft which was originally needed by the US Army to spot and adjust artillery fire. Used by the US Army, USMC and newly formed US Air Force to provide observational duties in the battlefield. The L-19 was in service from 1950 to 1974 until being replaced by either the O-2 (USAF) or OV-10 (USMC). However, the US Army maintained use of the L-19 (eventually redesignated the O-2) through the Vietnam War. The L-19 Bird Dog was also used by the Royal Thai Air Force and South Vietnamese Air Force. The Bird Dog is now used primarly by private owners or flying organizations.
This paper model builds the L-19 Bird Dog in a Chilean livery.
