1/48 F-86F Sabre canopies add ons Mad Mig and Huff Paper Model
This F-86E flew with the 51st Fighter Wing 39th Fighter Squadron out of Suwon, Korea. It is depicted as it appeared in early spring 1953. It was assigned to 2Lt James Thompson who used it to shoot down two MiG-15's. The first MiG had a large dragon motif on its left side which USAF intelligence determined was probably a high ranking Russian pilot. Soon after this mission the crew chief for this aircraft, Sgt JW "Bill" Manney, painted a large dragon on the Sabre. He also painted the art on the opposite side "Bills Baby". The origin of "Miss Jerry" has not been explained.
John Glenn's F-86F-30 "Mig Mad Marine"
He flew this while a USMC exchange pilot with 51st FW 25th FS in mid 1953 and used it to shoot down 3 MiG-15's. If you enjoy building this paper model, please contribute a review!
